Job Title: Restaurant General Manager
Position Overview:
We are a fast growing, elevated, restaurant, bar and event venue located on the beautiful Fairways Golf Course in Rochelle, IL. Under new ownership, we have recently undergone many new renovations and upgrades that have helped us create a warm, inviting and classy environment. Our amazing, team oriented, staff has developed a fun, friendly and exciting workplace. We thrive on mutual kindness, respect and teamwork. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team and to ensure the smooth operation of our establishment. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, bar and event space, including managing staff, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and maintaining inventory levels.
2. Recruit, train, and supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff, providing coaching and guidance as needed to foster a positive work environment.
3. Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability, including menu development, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives.
4. Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards.
5. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement of supplies and ingredients.
6. Analyze financial reports and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
7. Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed guest expectations.
8. Maintain a strong presence on the floor, interacting with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any issues that may arise.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations.
10. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff members.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a managerial role within the restaurant industry, with a track record of success in driving sales and profitability.
2. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers, staff, and vendors.
4. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
5. Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
6. Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
8. Certification in food safety, sanitation and serving alcohol.
9. College Education-Bachelor’s Degree a plus.
